Native Plant Consultant & Garden Coach

The Problem:

We have a biodiversity crisis

We hear a lot about the climate crisis, but did you know we are also experiencing a biodiversity crisis?  In 2022 WWF reported that we have lost 70% of wildlife populations since 1970.  In 2018 New York Times reported about the “insect apocalypse”.

The Solution:

Plant native plants!

Millions of acres of turf grass lawns in North America are a tremendous opportunity to bring biodiversity back. Replace a section of your lawn with an oak tree, a few native shrubs or a prairie pocket and watch as birds, butterflies and bees find refuge in your yard and delight you from your kitchen window!

I help you transform your garden into a diverse hotspot for nature and a calm space to entice your senses…flowers to attract hummingbirds, berry shrubs to feed migrating birds, a simple water feature essential to wildlife, host plants for butterflies, moths, and native bees…

Hi! My name is Christina and I love to bring native plants into home gardens and communities to create beauty and to build biodiversity stepping stones.

Twenty years of native plant gardening as well as studies at Fleming College in Restoration Ecology and Environmental Management have prepared me for my role as a native plant consultant, advocate, and facilitator.

I currently oversee the David Suzuki Butterflyway Project in my community of Cavan Monaghan, which focuses on creating habitat gardens in public and private spaces.

As a native plant consultant, I advocate for and facilitate the use of native plants as a way to make simple changes resulting in profound benefits to biodiversity, one seed, plant, and shovel full at time…see you in the garden!
